Hi Nicole… I’m also a Brown but from California. I have two children and I have been teaching them about growing our own food and conserving water and energy (we walk when ever we can). I purchased these great lunch boxes through Laptop Lunches to teach about conservation (which I learned about through Kokua Foundation). As a parent I set the example for which I hope my children will learn and pass on. |

I have thought about planting a garden with fruits and vegetables, i know nothing about growing my own food, but i’m sure it can’t be that hard and i can learn, my daughter loves to plant things, i think she would enjoy that alot, the laptop lunches, do they have a website? |

Hey - Yes they have a website: http://www.laptoplunches.com I can’t believe how many sandwiches bags I have saved! We are going to plant our cool season vegetables soon. My inspiration came from City Slickers Farms, see http://www.cityslickerfarms.org They gave me great ideas to grow gardens in raised containers. I learned about them at a Slow Food Nation event in San Francisco over Labor Day… another great organization that promotes eating home-grown/local foods. I had to sacrifice seeing Jack in concert at Outside Lands to go to Slow Food but it was worth it. |
