My Earthbox Garden

I just planted a vegetable garden in Earthboxes last week.  A good friend who is a landscaper told me about them, and they are supposed to be very low-maintenance, take up a small amount of space, and be very productive.  I planted 5 boxes with tomatoes, squash, melons, peppers and an eggplant, and one with herbs.  I also got the automatic watering system, so it should basically take care of itself.  I have them on a 12x14 ft. second floor flat roof.

The box has a water reservoir in the bottom, so you can’t overwater.  You put a strip of fertilizer in on top of the potting mix, then a cover goes over the top of the soil (the plants are planted through X’s you cut in the cover).  So, you don’t even have to do any weeding.

Anyone else have any experience with this?  The website has a lot of information:  http://www.earthbox.com  They are in Scranton, PA.
