I haven’t been here in many months, the reason: you CAN’T discuss anything but Jack and the environment. Just ridiculous!! The only difference between this site and the Chinese government’s media control is they have better food. Your hippy parents would not approve of your new policies!! Please bring back the old forum. I don’t care about the bright colors here or about the produce that you planted yesterday on your back yard if my basics rights are not being respected. Please ease up on everyone. We are good people. Otherwise, I will continue to boycott this place for most of the year and refuse to attend any shows until the situation here changes.

wow, well said. Somehow that post found my email, otherwise the JJ forum would continue to gather dust in my bookmarks.
I’d be stoked for a fresh B&P;of some Jack , some donavon or some g love but I’d feel guilty on this forum because CD-Rs are really bad for the environment.
I guess I only have one post because all my previous posts were deleted by big brother, he didn’t like my “what happened to the old forum? ” thread and zapped it.
that ain’t right !

Can you mimic the thread posts by adding a “latest post date/time” section to each of the categories on the main forum discussion page? That way it would be easier to use all the categories…making it more fresh/alive. Like others have said, it takes too much time to go into each category…and for that reason, it also may have deterred people from posting into those defined sections even when more appropriate.

Alright, I’m going to comment now. I read so many of these posts and I have a response. It is interesting that you feel stripped. I get it. But do you get this part? I witnessed lots of the idle chit-chat in the old forum and it was inclusive to a certain group. And, to find friends through Jack Johnson’s music is cool and that alone is ok. But, why not talk about Jack Johnson and everything he sings/stands for on a forum created and maintained for that purpose and is the “thread” you were tied together with? He represents a never-ending topic that can be applied to every other metaphor. If you were so friendly with all those fellow fans you miss, where are they now, where have they been? There are countless avenues for communicating…and could have been all along.

I would make the site faster. What is up with this place… It’s the slowest site I have ever witnessed. Besides the pages taking forever to load, sometimes when I am typing on here it takes a couple minutes just for the letters to start showing up. I have never had that happen to me before.
Besides that I do enjoy some of the conversations that take place. Navigation isn’t the easiest but maybe it’s a good thing that you have to figure your way around on your own.

it wasn’t inclusive to any certain group. anyone could join in on the threads who had something to say. i was never aware of anyone being left out. and “idle chitchat” was us being friendly and making lifelong friends. i for one went through a lot of stuff in my life while that forum was up and running, and trust me, if it werent for my forum peeps, i might be crazy in the head.
oh, and also, the awesome threads we had were in the off topic general discussion part of the forum. therefore, they were off topic (hence the name). there were also threads related to jack and what he does.
oh, and for the record, we all lost communication cuz this new forum took over the old one. and none of us wanted to come here because all our posts were being deleted.thank heavens for cassio and LLN for getting us all back together with the new forum.
oh i just realized i have a different name on here then what im known by. this is dUuUuDe. (or kris to the forum family) for those who were wondering. :]
