User Profile

I’m a graduate student at the University of North Texas, currently working on my Masters in secondary education.  I’ve got a Bachelor’s in English lit, and when I finish my grad work I’m moving to Hawaii because apparently they have a shortage of high school English teachers there… and who doesn’t want to live in Hawaii???  Galveston Island, TX, is my home town and I spend as much time there as I can, hanging at the beach or chilling with my mama.  I love organic food, gardening, reading, writing, music, working with students, warm weather, running, cycling, swimming, and surfing is currently on the learning-to-do section of the list.  I am a singer/songwriter on the side, and am currently working on my first demo/album.  I’m really passionate about the environment, seeing a new attitude in our country towards transient and homeless populations, and about equal opportunities in education.  That’s about it.
